My partner and her friend, over a few glasses of wine, stumbled across an amazing coincidence. Their Grandfathers were partners in a Hairdressers and Tobacconists shop, located at 17, The Jamb, in Corby Village. They both knew that their respective Grandfathers had the shop, but to find out the connection was a complete surprise! Does anyone have any memories of the shop that they wish to share? The two men were John (Jack) Taylor and Dennis Payne. (Mr Payne is the taller man in the photo).

It is great to see new photos of village.  Thank you.  Where was the shop?  I recall a barbers opposite the White Horse, alongside the north side of the brook.  I remember as a youngster they would put a piece of wood across the arms of the chair for me to sit on as I was too small to sit on chair normally!  There was no, "And how would you like it"? , it was short-back-and-sides take it or leave it!    What does "Churchmans No1" refer to over the door?
